Calle Jaén now has a sign restricting pedestrian access to residents and those visiting the shops as the building works are expanding. You can no longer get t0 Plaza Marina or Plaza Tutti Frutti off calle Jaén, both are now fenced off.
Restricted pedestrian access to the Balcon de Europa
Anyone accessing the Balcon de Europa today from the Plaza Cavana end is having to do so via the alley at the right side of the El Salvador church as the roadworks have completely blocked the normal access along calle Carmen. Work is also continuing on the separate project in the square off the Balcon de Europa.
Plaza Cavana November 13th
A lot of activity today Plaza Cavana as the renovation work appears to be getting properly underway and speeding up. Work has been going on in the central area, a huge mound of earth now in evidence, and at the side where new pipes are to be laid.
New Health Centre update
The multi-phase Health Centre project is a long term affair with all sorts of works to be carried out before the actual construction of the centre itself starts. Roundabouts, a new road…This is the site as it stands at the moment.
El Chucho promenade
Work on El Chucho promenade is almost complete and it’s looking good. There is lighting, seating and the paved area looks virtually done. Should be opening fairly soon. Still blocked off at the moment, though.
Work on the other side of calle Jaén now started
Work has started on the other side of calle Jaén, work now being carried out on both sides of the street. The whole project, which includes wide pavements, is due to be completed before Christmas!
Frigiliana market…
Appreciably cooler today! The Frigiliana buses were packed to the hilt yesterday, market day in Friggy of course, although the market itself wasn’t that crowded.
Calle Jaén this morning…
Work is progressing calle Jaén but difficult to say whether, as predicted, it will be finished by Christmas. If they are only doing one side of the road, then maybe.
Plaza Cavana this morning…
A few days ahead of schedule, this is Plaza Cavana this morning. Notice the conspicuous absence of any sort of workforce after the initial flurry!
And down at Torrecilla beach…
Still a lot of people on the beaches, and in the sea!
