Had to make an early morning pilgrimage to the bank, pay a few bills, so popped down to Calahonda beach. Very peaceful. The local fishermen were busy cleaning some of their catch…with a lot of willing helpers around!
Nice collection of oddities
This is a fascinating collection of oddities, both in nature and man-made, with some wonderful photography thrown in for good measure. Some bizarre and odd things around us
The occasional stinger…

Fire destroys three hectares of land in Frigiliana
A fire in the El Tejar Alto and Barranco del Doctor areas of Frigiliana on Tuesday destroyed about three hectares of scrub, olives and pine. Despite being only about 800 metres from the town and with several villas in the affected area, evacuation of homes was not necessary.

Never noticed that before…
Well, amazing. From one point in Maro, you can actually see and get a shot of the Balcón de Europa in Nerja (+/- 5 kilometres) AND the lighthouse in Torrox (+/- 14 kilometres). Never knew that. OK, a bit far for a DECENT shot, but it’s a shot.
Fiesta Blanca 2012 photos
A lot of people dressed in white down on El Salon beach in Nerja for the annual ‘Fiesta Blanca’, the ‘big party on the beach. This fiesta seems to have captured the imagination as it is always very well attended.
Fun waves…
There were some fun, regular rolling waves down at Calahonda beach this afternoon. Good crowds on the beaches but not so many people wandering around the rest of the town during the day.
