The Council has carried out repair work to the lighting on the fountain in Plaza Cantarero so that it is once again illuminated, the colours constantly changing.
Out and About March 26th 2013…
Tuesday was quite a nice day, especially in direct sun, and a few people even headed for the beach. The town is not exactly busy at the moment but there are a lot more people milling about than was the case last week, particularly Dutch and Irish visitors.
Relaxing in the square…
Plaza Cantarero is always a popular square and today there were loads of people sitting around catching a few rays or just having a good old natter. Maybe even discussing the announcement, three days before an election, of the tender process for the sewage plant. Oh what cynics we have become.
Busy in town…
Strange weather at the moment. Warm in the sun, cool to cold in the shade and freezing indoors. Lots of people wandering about today with several large guided tour groups in the centre of town.
End of the Cafe Cantarero?
It looks like the little cafe on Plaza Cantarero has finally decided to close, a shame. They never really recovered from losing their terrace during the long, drawn-out renovation of the square as the cafe itself is tiny and could not hold more than a few people. They had been talking about giving up for some time now.
Plaza Cantarero July 14th 2010
Plaza Cantarero (Orange Square) is also open to the public again after many months of renovations. Just needs someone to turn on the tap for the fountain. Looking pretty good.
Plaza Cantarero, June 21st 2010
Plaza Cantarero is looking better by the day.
