Peru’s National Ballet company is performing a version of Swan Lake by malagueño choreographer Fernando Hurtado, whose dance company has been based in Nerja since 2006 following a collaboration agreement made with the Town Hall.
End of season celebrations for the young footballers
The Municipal Football School held its end of season party at the weekend, with players from all 16 teams attending along with trainers, coaches, family and friends. For the junior team it was time to celebrate their promotion. The event ended, as is now traditional, with everyone enjoying a large paella.
Nerja Indoor Football team promoted
The youth team of the Municipal Indoor Football School are provincial champions after beating San Pedro 2-1 at the weekend and are promoted to the National League which means next season they will be playing throughout Andalucia as well as in Ceuta and Melilla.
Nerja Caves Foundation to promote the Caves and the Museum
A new president of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Jorge Hernández Mollar (PP), and a new Caves Manager, Ángel Ruiz, appears to be heralding the end of the ‘Caves Wars’ and the beginning of closer cooperation between the Council and the Foundation, with plans already being made to promote both the Caves and the Nerja Museum.
