María Estrella Tomé is new local PSOE Secretary
The PSOE in Torrox has elected María Estrella Tomé, former parliamentarian and Councillor for Urban Planning, as the new Secretary of the PSOE. She replaces the current Secretary, Mayor Francisco Muñoz, who has completed two terms and therefore is not eligible to stand again.
Málaga PSOE proposes liquidity fund
The PSOE in Málaga are to present an urgent motion insisting that the Provincial Council set up a liquidity fund to assist municipalities whose population is under 20,000 people, with interest-free loans repayable in 44 months.

The president of the Junta de Andalucia, José Antonio Griñán, has been selected as PSOE president in the new executive led by Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, replacing Manuel Chaves. This was despite Griñán’s candidacy not being supported by the new leader.

Former deputy Prime Minister Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba has been elected as secretary general of the PSOE, beating Carme Chacon by 487 votes (51.16%) to 465 (48.84%) votes. There were two blank voting papers and one was void.
