Real Madrid 3-0 Sevilla

The corpulently challenged lady is warming up her vocal cords after Real Madrid beat Sevilla 3-0 on Sunday and are now just a whisker away from their first La Liga title since 2008. Ronaldo and Benzema with two were the scorers.

Apoel Nicosia 0-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid dominated play against minnows Apoel Nicosia although the Cypriots, whose team is 60% Portuguese and Brazilian, kept them at bay until quite late in the game. It was a double substitution, Kaká and Marcelo coming on, which seemed to make all the difference.

Real cruise into the quarters

Real Madrid cruised into the quarter finals of the Champions League with a 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow, 5-2 on aggregate, with goals from Higuain, Ronaldo (2) and Benzema. Zoran Tosic was on target for Moscow.

Real Betis 2-3 Real Madrid

A win is a win, but it wasn’t a very convincing performance from Real Madrid and they could easily have lost their match against Real Betis if two clear penalty incidents had not been passed over by the referee.

Barcelona progress in the Copa del Rey

Real Madrid fought back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw but it was not to be enough and Barcelona went through 4-3 on aggregate and now play either Valencia or Levante in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid 3-2 Málaga

Real Madrid, the defending champions, fought back from two goals down to beat Málaga 3-2 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey match.

Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona

After conceding the fastest goal in ‘clasico’ history after just 23 seconds, Barcelona rallied to win the match 1-3 at the Bernabeu to displace Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Real Madrid 3-0 Villarreal

Three goals in the first thirty minutes saw Real Madrid cruise past Villarreal on Wednesday evening, the goals courtesy of Benzema, Kaká and Di María. Real Madrid move up into second spot as a result of this win but Villarreal drop down into the relegation zone. Levante still lead the way by one point.

Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid

The first trophy of the season for Barcelona as they beat Madrid 3-2 in the second leg of the Spanish Supercup in a match which ended with a disgraceful fracas and red cards for Marcelo and Özil for Real Madrid and David Villa for Barcelona.
