Yesterday saw the official inauguration of calle la Corta in Rincón de la Victoria following a €480,000 renovation project which has resulted in the renewal of all public services in this central street, located behind the Town hall, and the installation of energy saving LED lighting.
Renovations in Benagalbón
Calle Osario is the first of five streets in Benagalbón to be completed under a €1.5 million renovation project funded by the ICO-Turismo. The renovations elsewhere are around 50% complete.
Renovations in Plaza Alfonso II in Periana
A project has been approved to renovate Plaza Alfonso XII in Periana at a cost of €68,182, with Málaga Council providing €54,546, the Junta de Andalucia €10,227 and Periana Council €3,409.
Plaza Cavana, March 23rd 2010
Almost frantic activity in Plaza Cavana at the moment, presumably a sudden attempt to get the square finished in time for Easter. So many workmen on the site, no doubt pulled from the other works such as calle Carabeo. It is quite noisy as the paving stones are being cut and laid but it shouldn’t last too long.
Renovation of avenida Toré Toré in Torre del Mar is finished
Renovation work on avenida Toré Toré in Torre del Mar is now finished with the ‘new avenue’ now boasting 240 parking places, cycle lanes in both directions, a landscaped central reservation and wide pavements to accommodate bar and restaurant terraces.
Renovation of Plaza de la Merced in Málaga could start in May
The renovation of Plaza de la Merced in Málaga could begin towards the end of May this year and, if all goes to plan, be finished by December.
Plaza Cantarero, February 23rd 2010
The renovations in Plaza Cantarero are continuing at a reasonable pace with the pillars for a new pergola in place. The fountain itself hasn’t been touched, but the entire area around it has been dug up. Presumably it will all be finished by the summer, at the latest, given that the estimated completion period was three months or so.
Restricted pedestrian access to the Balcon de Europa
Anyone accessing the Balcon de Europa today from the Plaza Cavana end is having to do so via the alley at the right side of the El Salvador church as the roadworks have completely blocked the normal access along calle Carmen. Work is also continuing on the separate project in the square off the Balcon de Europa.
Plaza Cavana November 13th
A lot of activity today Plaza Cavana as the renovation work appears to be getting properly underway and speeding up. Work has been going on in the central area, a huge mound of earth now in evidence, and at the side where new pipes are to be laid.
