Multinational Danone has announced a restructuring plan which will see 900 jobs go throughout Europe. The Danone factory in Sevilla will close, affecting 90 employees, although the company has stated that staff would be transferred to other centres.
A few changes in the Ronda government due to resignations
The government team in Ronda, comprising members of the PP and PA, has undergone a bit of a restructuring after the resignation of the Councillor for Agriculture, Manuel López (PP), for personal reasons and the Councillor for Public Works and Planning, Daniel Harillo (PA), following disagreements with fellow party members.
Iberia to suspend flights to Athens, Cairo and Istanbul
Iberia has announced that as from mid-January it will be suspending flights to Athens, Cairo and Istanbul and, from April 1st 2013, flights to Santo Domingo and Havana. The changes are part of the restructuring of the company announced in November.
Junta de Andalucia assumes responsibility for paying benefits to 1,383 former employees of companies affected by the crisis
The Junta de Andalucia has approved a decree of extraordinary and urgent measures whereby it will assume direct responsibility for the payment of benefits to employees of a number of companies affected by restructuring processes. This will affect 1,383 former employees of Santana, Delphi, Boliden, Astilleros and the insurance company APRA Leven.
Iberia restructuring could mean job losses
The CEO of IAG, the holding company resulting from the merger of Iberia and British Airways, Willie Walsh, has announced that the restructuring plan for the Spanish airline will be finalised in late September and added that they will not be able to avoid job losses.
