Granada 1-0 Málaga

Granada took another step towards survival in the top flight with a 1-0 win against Málaga, Ighalo scoring what turned out to be the winner in the 28th minute. Málaga slip to sixth place after Valencia beat Osasuna 4-0 with goals from Soldado, Ricardo Costa, Banega and Jonas from the penalty spot.

Athletic Bilbao 2-2 Barcelona

Athletic Bilbao took the lead against Barcelona through Susaeta and that’s the way it stayed until midway through the second half when Messi and Alexis struck in quick succession.

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid

Robert Lewandowski found the net four times as Borussia Dortmund thumped Real Madrid 4-1 in the first leg of their Champions League clash, rounding off a bad week for Spanish Clubs. Cristiano Ronaldo scored Real’s consolation goal and they now have a mountain to climb, as the saying goes.

Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona

Barcelona came unstuck against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, getting hammered 4-0.  No away goal makes their task in the second leg somewhat monumental, but miracles have happened in the past.

Valencia 5-1 Málaga

Málaga did their chances of a top four finish no good after getting hammered 5-1 at Valencia on Saturday evening. Danai Perejo, Soldado with two and Canales put Valencia 4-0 up within 30 minutes before Baptista pulled one back for the Blue and Whites.

International Youth Day poster competition results

Laura Moreno Casanova has been declared the winner of the Poster Contest set up as part of the Nerja Create+ 2013 programme, taking home the first prize of €150. The theme of the contest was International Youth Day which will be celebrated in Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos on August 12th 2013.

Wins for the top three

Two goals from Ronaldo, the first after only two minutes, and one for Higuaín saw Real Madrid win 0-3 at Athletic Bilbao. Ronaldo now has fifty for the season so far.

Málaga 1-0 Osasuna

Málaga bounced back from their Champions League defeat and moved up to fifth in La Liga after a 1-0 win over Osasuna on Saturday, although they left it very late indeed, Baptista scoring in the 93rd minute.

Barcelona through to the semi-finals of the Champions League

Barcelona are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League, fighting back to earn a 1-1 draw and eventually going through on the away goals rule, the aggregate score being 3-3. Pastore put the visitors ahead early in the second half before Pedro equalised in the 71st minute.

The fairytale is over

Two goals in time added on in Germany and the fairytale comes to an end, Málaga losing 3-2 on the night and on aggregate.
