Avenida castilla Perez open to through traffic again
Avenida Castilla Perez is open to through traffic again, one day earlier than first predicted. An omen for the rest of the works in calle El Barrio? Don’t forget that calle Almirante Carranza has permanently changed traffic direction and now runs from calle Chaparil to avenida Castilla Perez.
Calle Animas closed to traffic
Calle Animas, connecting calle La Cruz and calle Granada, is currently closed to traffic with the road surface dug up at the Calle La Cruz end. Doesn’t look as if it will be closed for too long, though.
Traffic now diverted in Avenida Castilla Perez
The diversion is in place in avenida Castilla Perez due to the roadworks at the junction with calle El Barrio, although that didn’t stop numerous people driving around the barrier and signs and then having to back up the street.

Why indeed…
An interesting comment from Brian on the proposed renovation of calle Alejandro Bueno: ‘4 months seems a long time for this short stretch of road, why so long?’ Hadn’t actually thought about that but now that I have it’s a good question as the street is only 70 metres long.
Leisurely start
Not the usual flurry of activity on the first day of roadworks but the signs are up in calle Alejandro Bueno. The works are scheduled to take four months.
