Very strange weather we’ve been having the past couple of days: sun, cloud, hot Saharan wind, gales. Never knew what it was going to do from one hour to the next. Very muggy today, though.
Calle Carabeo update July 8th 2010
Today was a veritable hive of activity on calle Carabeo, the most workmen (half a dozen) I have seen on the site in months, and working through the siesta.
Roadworks finished on the MA-7404 between Almargen and Cañete la Real
Work on remodelling the MA-7404 between Almargen and Cañete la Real is complete, although some supplemental work, such as installing various safety barriers, has still to be carried out.
Calle Chaparil, June 22nd 2010
Work in calle Chaparil has resulted in the local bus service being diverted down prolongación Antonio Millón and the temporary moving of the bus stop from junction of calle Antonio Millón with calle Chaparil to the junction of calle Chaparil and prolongación Antonio Millón (next to the ceramics shop).
Calle Carabeo, June 15th 2010
The seemingly permanent building works in calle Carabeo are at least moving along a little, with activity now down at the end of the street by the Burriana Apartments block.
Barriers go up in Plaza Cavana
Speculation that traffic entering calle Diputación would, as in the past, continue to exit via calle El Barrio is at an end with the construction of barriers in Plaza Cavana preventing such a route.
Little progress in calle Carabeo…
Not much happening with the works in calle Carabeo. On Friday there was just one workman on the entire site and he was in the huge hole by the steps down to Carabeo beach and was engaged in the unenviable task of sweeping away the ‘water’ in the bottom….with a broom!

Balcón de Europa, March 9th 2010
Building works just wouldn’t be building works if sections of road didn’t have to be dug up at least twice, and so it was no surprise to see a crater reappear in calle Carmen, next to the Balcón de Europa. MA-3033 is open again
The MA-3033 which connects Coín with the road to Mijas and the Costa del Sol via Puerto de los Pescadores is once again open to traffic after having been closed for one year due to roadworks. This coincides with the closure of the A-387 (Alhaurín el Grande) for the next two months due to upcoming roadworks.
