A team of researchers from Ánfora Arqueología has located the remains of a Roman settlement, under water, in the ría del Carreras between the towns of Isla Cristina and Ayamonte in Huelva. Among the items found are amphoras and fragments of marble columns. Experts believe that they formed part of a city that was buried after a tsunami.

The 3rd Century AD Roman remains near the lighthouse in Torrox Costa are considered to be some of the most archeologically important ruins along the Málaga coast, yet they have been sadly neglected through administrative and financial problems.
