Fire in Ronda
A fire at the historic Casa del Rey Moro in Ronda caused damage to two rooms of the property. Work has had to be carried out on the roof to secure the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Festive menus at Ronda hospital
Ronda hospital is offering special menus, tailored to the needs of each patient, for those entering hospital over the festive period, these being served on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Three Kings.
Underground rubbish containers in Los Prados, Ronda
Ronda Council has completed the installation of underground rubbish containers in the village of Los Prados at a cost of €28,000. Local residents had complained about the existing rubbish collection areas which were in front of the school and next to a children’s play area. Similar containers are now planned for La Cimada.
Ronda firemen pose for calendar
Firemen in Ronda have produced their second calendar with proceeds going to the Ronda Association for Alzheimer’s Sufferers (Aroal) and the Association of Cancer Help (Ayuca). There is an initial print run of 2,500 copies and these will be on sale at €5 each.
Lower olive harvest expected in the Serrania de Ronda
This year’s olive harvest in the Serrania de Ronda is expected to be down by almost one million kilos this year, a drop of around 15%. This contrasts with the rest of Málaga province where yields are expected to be in the region of 65,000 tons, 11,000 tons more than in 2010.

Ronda Council is carrying out a study to determine whether or not to fine individuals and businesses who leave rubbish out on the streets. Such a measure has been deemed practical if the current situation affects the image of the city and municipal cleaners have recently been monitoring the situation.
Former Mayor of Ronda pays €150,000 bail bond
The former mayor of Ronda, Antonio Marín, has paid the €150,000 bail requirement imposed by the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 2 in Ronda relating to the ‘Acinipo’case, an investigation into urban corruption.
Body dumped on the side of the road
The body of a 15 year old youth of Arab origin was found at the side of the road between Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, and the town of Ronda.
