As part of a road safety programme, Local Police in Nerja will be actively participating in a campaign relating to the wearing of seatbelts and the use of child security restraints in vehicles.
DGT crackdown on seatbelts and child restraints
Starting today, Monday, and continuing until next Sunday, the DGT is intensifying controls on seatbelts and children’s seats and restraints in vehicles, the campaign timed to coincide with the return to school. The DGT has also invited municipalities of over 25,000 people and who have their own Local Police force to join in the campaign with controls on urban roads.

Monday morning sees the start of a DGT crackdown on the wearing of seatbelts and the correct use of car seats for children, the campaign designed to coincide with the return to school of nearly one million children in Andalucia.
DGT begins seatbelt clampdown
As from Monday September 12th and continuing until September 18th, the DGT is concentrating its efforts on controlling the correct use of seatbelts, mandatory for all passengers in vehicles. Particular attention will be paid to urban areas where short journeys are involved and where many neglect to use a seatbelt.
