A 20 year old youth has become the first industrial fatality of the new year in Andalucía after an accident an an industrial estate in Dos Hermanas, Sevilla. The youth was working at the Supermercados Día warehouse on La Isla industrial estate when a lifting machine fell and crushed him. The Emergency Services could do nothing to revive him.
Counterfeit goods seized in Ecija
Police in Ecija, Sevilla, have arrested two people and siezed over 75,000 counterfeit items in raids on three warehouses. Two of the warehouses were on the Campiña industrial estate, the other was on the Cañada del Rosal road.
Nanny gets two year in prison
The Provincial Court in Sevilla has sentenced a Bolivian nanny to two years in prison for leaving an eight year old boy, who suffered from cerebral palsy, alone in the house for forty-eight hours. During her absence from the house, located in the Nervión district of Sevilla, the boy died.
Bogus gas inspectors detained
It would seem that the bogus gas inspector scam is not just a coastal phenomenon. The Guardia Civil has detained six people in San Juan de Aznalfarache, Sevilla, who had been carrying out unauthorised inspections of gas installations in homes in the towns of Tomares and Bormujos.
Five year old injured by horse and carriage
A five year old girl was injured yesterday in the Parque de María Luisa in Sevilla after being run over by a horse and carriage. The incident occurred at around 13:30 for reasons as yet unknown. She is now recovering in the Hospital Infantil Virgen del Rocío in the capital.
