The Council is hoping to persuade the Junta de Andalucia to amend Article 26 of the Order of November 9th 2006 relating to the Strategy for Sustainable Tourism in Andalucia in order to allow Nerja to receive the remaining 25% subsidy for the repairs carried out to the Eagle Aquaduct.
Another plea to save the tram
The Mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Francisco Delgado (PP), is once again asking the Junta de Andalucia to contribute financially to the tram system to avert the suspension of the system at the end of this moth or early June.
Subsidy for buying an electric car
The Ministry of Industry is preparing a package of measures to try and persuade more people to buy electric cars, although this is currently some way from coming into operation.
Plan de Guarderías
A total of thirty unemployed mothers will benefit under the Nerja Plan de Guarderías (Child Care Plan) for 2009/2010 whereby a subsidy of €50 per month is paid towards the cost of child nursery care.
