El Puente, near the bridge (Puente Nuevo) at the western entrance to Nerja, has always been a great tapas bar and remains so. Nice bar area, great terrace, delicious and varied tapas and a reasonable price, hard to find any fault at all. I had chick peas with morcilla and it was excellent. A beer and a tapa, €1.60.
Tapas at the Round Bar
When it comes to the sheer range of tapas on offer you would be hard-pressed to beat the Round Bar – Redondo – in calle Gloria. On this occasion I opted for meat in a mushroom and pepper sauce with rice. Yum. A small beer and a tapa, €1.60.
Tapas at El Desvan
El Desvan on calle Pintada is a always good little stopping-off place for a tapa or two. Very nice decor in the bar and restaurant areas and they really have done a great job using the space to full advantage, the width of the place being on the small side. And there is a patio at the back.
Tapas at Hostal La Ermita
Always a good tapa at Hostal la Ermita in plaza de la Ermita, Nerja, and at a very reasonable price. A small beer (and it is small) and a tapa, €1.20. They have a small range of tapas but good quality.
Tapas at Los Cuñaos
Los Cuñaos, or the ‘through bar’ as it is often known locally, has an excellent selection of tapas, fish and meat. I had some small ribs in a mushroom sauce, with actual mushrooms in it. Very nice sauce. A beer and a tapa, €1.30 so very good value.
Tapas at Rincon del Sabor
Rincon del Sabor is at the bottom of calle Ruperto Anduez, Nerja, not far from the Parador, and is excellent value for snacks, tapas and meals. José may rarely smile, as many people comment, but Estella is always bubbly and jovial. All part of the ‘character’ of the place.
Tapas at Bar Cavana
The Cavana is Plaza Cavana is one of the oldest bars in Nerja, is quite spacious inside and has a small street terrace. Like La Biznaga, the tapas are not included in the price of drinks and this makes it quite pricey at €2.80 for a beer and a tapa.

Cheap and cheerful as ever at Antelo in Plaza de la Ermita, Nerja. I had a very nice ‘Pinchito’ consisting of two chunks of meat, tomato, pepper and onion and a beer and a tapa cost just €1.20. Tapas at Candela
Candela is located next to the San Fernando vet on calle Chaparil, opposite the junction with Prolongación Antonio Millón. A fairly narrow bar area but a reasonable amount of space elsewhere including a terrace.
Tapas at El Cangrejo
El Cangrejo in calle La Habana has been around for years serving up a great range of both fish and meat tapas. There was a change of ownership last year but nothing has really changed, still a great place.
