Temperatures in Sevilla and Córdoba provinces are expected to reach 40 degrees today. In the Straits of Gibraltar, heavy winds are being predicted until around 18:00.
Increase in temperatures in the next few days
The Meteorological Office is predicting an overall increase in temperatures in Andalucia over the next few days and by as much as ten degrees, reaching 35 degrees in the Guadalquivir valley between Sevilla and Córdoba.
Now the Government aims to control the temperature
A Royal Decree setting down minimum and maximum temperatures in public buildings has been approved by the Council of Ministers.
High temperatures in Andalucia
Temperatures of around 40 degrees are expected in many parts of Granada and Almería provinces today and along the Málaga coastline, temperatures in the region of 36 degrees can be expected.
Yellow alert for Sevilla and Córdoba provinces
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has placed Sevilla and Córdoba on ‘yellow alert’ for temperatures of 40 degrees or more. The alert runs from 13:00 to 21:00, with the highest temperatures expected to be in country areas in these two provinces. Temperatures in Huelva are expected to reach around 38 degrees today.
