The national Police in Torre del Mar have arrested a 42 year old resident of Vélez-Málaga on suspicion of committing ten robberies in the municipality.

Blue Zone parking proposals
The business associations of Vélez-Málaga (ACEV) and Torre del Mar (ACET) have submitted a proposal for the creation of 800 so-called ‘Blue Zone’ parking spaces, basically a parking tax, covering about a dozen streets in the town.

Repairs to the private residential underground car park ‘Plazamar’ in Torre del Mar will be completed in 2013 according to the Council. In April 2001, the Council was ordered by the TSJA to carry out repairs after leaks from the public square above the car park severely affected the facility.

Despite a commitment to complete the renovation of the Torre del Mar promenade before the beginning of July, one of the busiest months of the year in the resort, the work will not now be completed until at least July 14th.
No more seasonal fruits on the streets of Torre del Mar
This year, the Council has decided not to grant authorisation for stalls selling seasonal fruits, such as pears, grapes and figs, on the streets of Torre del Mar and has extended the measure to include greengrocers who display fruits on stalls outside shops.
