Most of the new energy saving lights have been installed at Torrecilla beach in Nerja, just a bit of work still going on.

Work has started on improvements to the lighting at Torrecilla beach, with the replacement of 40 lamps, the addition of two new lamps and the installation of projectors to illuminate the whole beach area.

After the heavy rains of the past couple of days, water is once again running in the rio Chillar, first time for months.

The Council is going to improve the lighting at Torrecilla beach, replacing the existing 43 units for ones which are more aesthetically pleasing and use about half the energy of the current setup.

Strange day weather-wise, not bad in sheltered areas but very gusty and strong down on the seafront. Good for the windsurfers.

What a difference a day makes, and although there is still quite a lot of white stuff on the hills, plenty of people sunning themselves down by the beach, a few on the beach and loads on the benches.

It began to get a lot cooler on Saturday evening, I suppose it had to eventually, so the snow was no surprise. In town today, the wind wasn’t too bad, just the odd gust. A bit stronger along the riverbed but down on the seafront…whoa….blowing a gale.
Out and About October 8th 2013…
A bit of a scorcher today and plenty of people on Torrecilla beach. Some nice waves developed for the surfers, but it also mean’t that the sea came quite far in, overrunning the sunbed area. Not that anyone was bothered.
Change of shape…
Interesting the way Torrecilla beach totally changes shape periodically. From wide at the Plaza de los Cangrejos end to narrow at the watchtower end, it is now completely the opposite.
Disturbing…
Disturbing reports over the past few days of people swimming and kayaking through toilet tissue at Torrecilla beach. I took the following photo at lunchtime today.
