Spain received a total of 5.3 million tourists during the first two months of 2010, a decrease of 1.5% compared to 2009. Although this is being seen as encouraging, it must be borne in mind that the same period in 2009 showed an 8.7% decline relative to 2008.
October visitors
According to the Town Hall, 9,414 people visited the Tourist Office during October, with the British leading the way with 2,373 followed by the Spanish with 1,415 and the Germans with 1,103.
November sees sharp decline in tourist numbers
The number of foreign visitors arriving in Andalucía in November was 17.3% down on the same period last year, a figure which is six points above the national average.
Visitor numbers to Málaga are down
Málaga airport is geared up for the early August rush but it is already apparent that tourist numbers are down.
