Less accidents this summer

According to figures released by the authorities, the summer months have seen far fewer accidents in the municipality, less vehicles being towed and a decrease in the number of people being cited for not wearing a crash helmet or driving under the influence of alcohol.

A couple of hours before the Virgen del Carmen procession was due to start, the boys in black were out to remove any of the naughties, scooters and cars, left on the streets affected by the procession. There was a long debate on whether or not to tow a car with diplomatic plates.

Málaga and the grúa exprés

Málaga Council has introduced a bonus system for the municipal towing (grua) service based on the number of vehicles towed in any given month, part of a new Mobility Ordinance which permits the removal of vehicles without the presence of police officers.

Employees of the company empowered to tow away illegally parked vehicles in Málaga have been taking to the street in protest at proposed measures to remove the Local Police from the equation.
