The former Mayor of Ronda, Antonio Marín Lara (PSOE), has been arrested on suspicion of corruption relating to urban planning.

In Almeria province there are currently 25 mayors facing charges for urban planning crimes, mostly relating to the building of houses on land classified as rural.
