Torre del Mar promenade to be renovated

Vélez-Málaga Council has given the municipal housing company EMVIPSA the task of renovating and remodelling the promenade in Torre del Mar.

Figures released by Vélez-Málaga Council show that during 2010, the home help service provided a total of 208,000 hours of assistance to 392 people at a cost of €2,261,000.

Roadworks in Vélez-Málaga

Vélez-Málaga Council has begun a €22,372 project to improve calle Siempreviva, the works to take one month and to include improving the pavement, totally renovating the sewage and water supplies and installing underground piping to house the future lighting cables for the San Sebastián area.

Police in Vélez-Málaga recover stolen fruit

During the past three months, Local Police in Vélez-Málaga have recovered around 500 kilos of fruit and vegetables stolen from local farmers, making four arrests in the process.

New sports facilities in Vélez-Málaga

The new sports facilities in the parque María Zambrano in Vélez-Málaga, which include two paddle tennis courts and an area for basketball, football, volleyball and handball, are due to be inaugurated on Andalucia Day, February 28th. The project has cost €371,412.
