A total of twelve provinces in eastern Spain are on alert for rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, including Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva, Málaga and Sevilla. The rain and thunderstorms could be heavy in some areas.
Weather alerts for Sunday and Monday
Eighteen provinces are on ‘snow alert’ for today, Sunday, and there is currently a ‘yellow alert’ for strong winds on Monday in Almería, Granada, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra, Guipúzcoa, Vizcaya, Asturias and the islands of El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, La Palma and Tenerife.
Storm damage and weather alerts
The first winter storm in Málaga province, with winds up to 70 kph, has resulted in substantial damage to a number of beaches, most notably in Torrox and Manilva.
High winds expected in some areas of Andalucia
Weather alerts for high winds up to 70 kph today in Almeria, particularly along the coast, Guadix and Baza in Granada province and Cazorla and Segura in Jaén province. The alerts are in effect until midnight tonight.
More rain in Huelva, Sevilla, Cádiz and parts of Málaga province
Snow, rain and winds have been causing problems throughout the Iberian peninsular and the bad weather is set to continue.

The Civil Defence has issued an alert for snow and cold weather tonight in parts of Andalucía, Madrid Castilla-La Mancha, Valencia and Murcia with up to 20 centimetres of snow expected in some areas and temperatures falling as low as minus thirteen degrees.
